Who are you?
Adaja Cooper is an award-winning artist from Little Rock, Arkansas. Along with winning multiple state competitions for art, including AYAA (Arkansas Young Artists Association) she has been to national competitions competing with her paintings. In 2019, she won third place in the painting category at the National NAACP Act-So Competition in Detroit. Adaja’s art has also been published in multiple books and magazines. Some of her pieces are currently being displayed at the House of Art in North Little Rock.

what are your inspirations?
Being of African American descent, I use my experiences as a Black woman living in America as inspiration for my art. I produces work that includes Black people as my muse. They typically have expressive facial expressions, or calm expressions with vivid background.
